Fall Show season is about to kickoff. We will be at the Gettysburg (PA), Doswell (VA), and Franklin (TN) shows. Its a good opportunity to save the expense and risk of shipping, bring shells for cleaning/inerting, and just catch up with friends.

Description:Great, untouched Model 1840 cavalry saber made by Ames. Dated 1846 which means it probably saw service in the Mexican American War prior to again in the Civil War. That makes it a hard-to-find saber and extra desirable.

There is wear to the grip, but I have not restored it. It could probably benefit from a little bit of leather conditioner, but I am not going to have it re-gripped.

I am pretty sure this would be a $1200 saber most anywhere else. Nathan Bedford Forrest used one after all...
