Description:Bormann case shot balls all look the same on the outside but until they get cut you never know what is inside. The balls could be loose English-style or suspended in a matrix that could be black or yellow. then the balls can be iron or lead and either round, cubes or bullets. it is always exciting to cut a shell to see what surprise it might hold.

This 12-lber cannon ball held a nice surprise. This is about as yellow a matrix as I can recall encountering. It really sets off the lead case shot balls. the iron under plug is in good shape with clean thread lines showing. And, as you can see, the fuse is in very nice shape. Even the outside iron is great. It would really show nicely in any collection.

Shell is inert, cleaned and coated.
