Description:This is a common shell meaning it was made with no shrapnel balls inside the powder cavity. As such the cavity walls are thicket to make heavier shrapnel and it contained more powder than a 12-lber case shell would have. this gave the shrapnel a longer reach to inflict damage. This shell half used an iron underplug and shows a safety groove under the Bormann fuse indicating CS manufacture. The powder path can be clearly seen in the fuse which is in pretty good shape, better than most that are cut.

Shell is inert, cleaned and coated.
