Description:Bottom section of a 9" Dahlgren spherical shell. The bottom of these big balls was thicker and heavier to keep the fuse up. This created a line of weakness as shown in the final picture which oftentimes resulted in this "coulotte" frag being blown out as a single circular piece.

Beautifully cleaned frag with rock solid iron.
