Description:Half section of a 24pdr spherical common shell that took the Bormann fuse. Would be a great way to display the fusing system with the time fuse and underplug. Recovered in the Charleston, SC area.

Shows some casting gas pockets at the bottom -- these shells were cast bottoms up so the gasses rose to what became the shell bottom -- and what looks to be the pin that held the sand casting core during manufacturing.

Both sides used these.
