.54 caliber Confederate Raleigh pattern bullet. Manufactured at the North Carolina Institute for the Deaf, the Dumb, and the Blind in Raleigh and only used by North Carolina troops.

Previously known to collectors as a "Carcano" bullet.

Nice, "dug" specimen that has a number written on it in pen, but the other side is very nice and will display well.
