Description:
This is a slightly post war version of the venerable Hotchkiss shell with a combined time and percussion fuse. The time portion is here and is like a Bormann fuse although it had the option of a longer burn duration than the standard 5 second Bormann fuses. This was to allow the shell to travel further as the rifled shells had a longer range than the roundballs. The percussion element is missing.

"TB" inspector stamp on the lead sabot and some traces of orange arsenal paint.
