Description:Rare 4-inch "Preston" shell with an even harder to find Preston percussion fuse that unscrews from the shell as well as itself. Everything on these British-made shells works backwards when unscrewing the fuse and its componenets due to them being left hand threaded.

There are some marks on the dome of the fuse from where someone applied a wrench to it, but they are not bad and I've seen much worse. The fuse on this one is worth at least half what the shell is if you can even find one ever.

At the recent Franklin Show, one of these with a less nice fuze sold during the early dealer-only hours for about this much which was helpful for me in pricing this one.
