Description:Fired Read in very nice condition. Has the lathe lug on the nose and excellent seven lands and grooves rifling on the copper sabot. Neat piece in that a flame groove was cut by hand in the bottom bourellet at one place (see second photo), but not apparently in the copper sabot. Along with the wood time fuse adapter this one took, these attributes make this likely an early Read shell.
