Description:People are always asking for James shells and I just recently got this example. While not perfect it is much more affordable than one in really nice shape. The iron has no big divots but does show more ground action than usually seen from a Vicksburg recovered shell. But it still displays pretty well. The brass fuse safety pin is visible on the side. The four lead pour holes around the base are clean and open. The brass fuse has no damage and great patina.
Shell was drilled in the side to inert it. The white lettering of "16" on the bottom was from an early collection and it is unknown what it means. It is likely a collection number. I can remove that lettering is desired.
Shell is inert, cleaned and coated.
