Description:Here is a neat relic from a famous cache of shells. This is a 6 pounder Bormann ball found in the river dumping at Milledgeville, GA. It still had the wood sabot with it. It appears when recovered it wasn't kept wet and preserved correctly so the wood dried and shrunk until it popped off the shell. The sabot as you can see in the images is in two pieces. The shell's iron is uncleaned and in pretty good condition but coated. The fuse is unpunched and in pretty good shape. This shell contains case shot.
Add a nice relic to your collection for less than half of what one in better condition would cost. I recently saw one on another web site for $950.
Shell is inert and coated.
