Location Recovered: Virginia

Description:The baby shells saw limited use and thus are hard to come by. This rarity 9 shell is one that is hard to find especially with the sabot still intact. The iron is very decent with only light peppering. This shell was originally fitted with a very small wood fuse adapter to hold the paper time fuse. The fuse hole is quite clean with smooth sides and could easily accept a wood adapter for display purposes if desired. The sabot has a very light pull on the bottom edge on one side but is almost completely intact all he way around. While not high and crisp, you can see the rifling of the Wiard gun that fired it on all sides. This is the early style with no flame grooves unlike the one in P&G book.

This is a pretty nice example of a hard to get shell. Don't let it get away!

Shell is inert, cleaned and coated.
