Description:This is a very good entry level Hotchkiss percussion shell for the 3" Ordnance gun. It is intact with a nice sabot showing good rifling all the way around. The iron is very decent though it does show a few place where the surface would chip if something hit it which is why the low price on it. The iron is preserved with rust converter and other than the areas that might flake it seems quite solid. The fuse is in great shape and has been buffed to shiny brass to show a sharp contrast with the black shell surface. one real nice thing about this shell is that the center cap unscrews from the fuse and you can see down into the shell. Unfortunately the slider is missing. But all-in-all a great shell for the money.
Shell is inert, cleaned and coated.
