Been there, dug that!  ;D   

What they failed to mention was that there has always been an iron plaque up there noting the capture of the long CS wagon train.  They also don't mention the original sunken roadbed left back in the woods well off the "beaten trail."

Hope they don't spend too much money "interpreting" the battlefield. Going there would be checking out a flea circus when your at Disney World.  ;D

  Some battlefield parks employ (meaning, pay) people to be "Interpreters" (yes, that is specifically what they are called) to explain military actions and equipment to the park visitors.  Sometimes the "Interpreters" are dressed in the appropriate period costume for their role.

  Dave was simply (but colorfully) comparing the value of the time you'd spend listening to an Interpreter at the wagon train burning park versus the same amount of time at the Gettysburg National Battlefiled park.  Clearly, Dave thinks the wagon-burning park will come out on the (very) short end of that comparison, and is saying he hopes the wagon-burning park's Management won't spend much of its limited financial resources on "Interpreting."

Thanks, Pete. That's exactly what I said or meant. Gettysburg = Disneyworld, Battle of Monterey Pass = Flea Circus. Why spend mad money on something people aren't going to spend money to see. Gettysworld is why they're there.
