So it was nice to recently be able to add a few to the collection.  I had a collection come in right before the Dalton Show, the keepers of which are dispersed among the displays in the group picture.

Then a couple weeks ago LeonVa, JimT and I got a crack at some nice ones from another collection.  Here are the ones from the second bunch I kept for myself:

Personally, I am trying not to be offended with the marketing hyperbole around Dan Poppen's excellent bullet collection up for auction here:

https://www.poulinauctions.com/complete-collection-of-civil-war-small-arms-projectiles/

There are a few I'd like to get but not enough to justify buying the whole kit and kaboodle.  Maybe JimT will and will sell me the ones I want  ;)

I’m just glad I was able to get something after looking at that lineup!!  But seriously though I would be willing to give you your money back for a few of those.    ;)

Your collections are incredible.  I'm sure you find it very hard to add "new" ones.

What I got from the auction. A tough Mac Mason bullet to find.

LeonVa: I think your list is bottom to top, not L to R, but nice ones.  You and Jim got a few that snuck by me...

Dave told me to back off on his, and I am still waiting for my 6 months supply of TastyKakes as reeward for my kindness.  But seriously, Dave S., I am glad you got your Mac marked Agar.  If you look at the top row second in from the left of the pic of my acquisitions, I got a pleasant surprise with some Mac writing on a Dimick I bought not knowing it had the writing.

I think if you click on the actual link and not just the photo it opens up L to R, at least it does on my phone but I digress.

Mike,
I’ll make good if I see you in Gettysburg in October. My quest for anything Mac continues.

Poppen's collection went for $35,000 today plus the auction house buyer's premium.  I really didn't see that much value in it on a bullet by bullet basis, but I guess as an instant complete collection at least two people got excited enough to bid it up.

Jim T. if it was you, I'd like the 4pc Shaler.  That's a real one DP Newton recovered...
