I actually suspect it OK. I think the "ball" was turned out of a piece of battlefield tree probably for a G.A.R. post...I've seen a bunch of this sort of wierd stuff. I do think the bullet became loose and fell out but was then very poorly replaced. Notice the small fragment of wood lodged next to the pin of the Williams that matches the wood of the ball.
