Price guide question.
« on: July 21, 2019, 09:50:45 PM »
hat is the latest issue of The Civil War Collectors Price Guide. The latest one I have is 12th edition. Not sure if its is the most current and how accurate it is. I read or heard somewhere maybe on this forum that there hasn't been anymore due to the falling of values and a lack of interest in publishing those decline in values.

At the Richmond Show the NSTCW had a big sign up that said if you buy a subscription you could get a few price guide but it didn't say if it was an old one.  I've not heard of any data gathering going on for a new one.

As to accuracy they've never had that.  It is, as the title says, a guide.   it does give you something of a ballpark idea.
Best,
Carl

The 12th edition is the latest. It was published in 2010.

1st. Edition 1974
2nd. Edition 1979
3rd. Edition 1985
4th. Edition 1988
5th. Edition 1991
6th. Edition 1993
7th. Edition 1995
8th. Edition 1997
9th. Edition 2000
10th. Edition 2003
11th. Edition 2006
12th. Edition 2010

I inquired just over three years ago as to when a new guide would be published and was told then they were just in the beginning stages of revising the guide. I’m not certain where that now stands.
