Friction primers with red paint

Has anyone seen friction primers with the end painted red. One was dug on our trip this weekend. And was wondering what the red paint was for? Night firing?

I can see using paint for protecting them against moisture but not sure if the red indicates anything. Looking forward to hearing from the more knowledgeable on this subject.
