Selma wheel

I accidentally hooked this wheel with my anchor many years ago in the river ar Selma. I don't know much about what a cannon may have used so I thought some of you guys might know what this could be used for. It is a very heavy wheel, 3 inch wide, wrought iron and about 42 inch tall.

Steve,

An intriguing find.  I'll have to check the Jones/Brooke shop notes but at 3" X 42" and heavy wrought iron it is suspiciously close to possibly being a band for reinforcing the breech of a Brooke gun.  How thick is the band at this point?

It's a wheel . The wood that held the spokes is still on it.

Steve,

Sounds more like the wheel of a railroad baggage cart or some kind of warehouse equipment.
