the cannon is in a tank to be run through electrolysis. Looks like they mean business, 10,000 volts is a lot, although I suspect they put that sign up to discourage people from messing with it

two cannons in one year right in Divedigger Dave's and my backyard !!    Were slipping up here, Dave  !!       
     So, all the artifact rich material they are dredging up from the Fortuna which mostly likely blew up there and sank, they are pumping 4 miles offshore into the ocean.......

The tank reminds me of a mini-version of Freddie's 10-inch cannon electrolysis tank.  They should pay the best in the business, you, to do it for them.  Then it would be done right and likely cheaper than the government can do anything.

Looks like a future DiveDigger standing in front of that tank admiring the kind of relic he'll find one day.

actually they did pump some mud on a dredge spoil but the rest went to the ocean. Here Erik and I are following the barge out to sea. He has been diving for 7 years and has found some stuff but he mostly likes to look at fish and fan the bottom right under my face to kill my visibility
