Not artillery related, but proof that CW relics can turn up in very unexpected places. A friend of mine stumbled upon this 1863 Emerson & Silver saber and offered to get it for me if I was interested. The price is ridiculously low and he can get it to me for free. The place? SOUTH AFRICA! How it ended up there nobody knows. There was a big gold rush in the area in the 1890's, perhaps that had something to do with it.
