Welcome!  I don't mean to offend you Michael, but that's a bit rough to ID.  Others like Carl and Dom Pedro have super powers well beyond my abilities and can possibly see what mere mortals like me cannot.

Agreed, difficult at best.  Electrolysis may help!

Not sure that it is a projectile. Just don't look right to me. But I'm not the expert and there is a lot of heavy encrustation as already pointed out. I wouldn't throw it out though until electrolysis is performed on it then you can decide if its good or not.
