Title: Humiston
Post by: speedenforcer on September 30, 2017, 09:43:05 PM
I saw on a face book civil war group someone posted the Humiston (not sure if that is spelled correctly) children cdv. I have always wondered in the past and now that wonder has been rekindled. Is it known where the spot in town where the soldiers body was found or is it lost to history? I noticed that sometimes due to good eyewitness accounts the exact spots of famous event are recorded. Although these spots are usually connected to a general and not a private (General Reynolds death spot, where General Armistead fell, Where General Lee greeted his men when returning from pickets charge etc. etc) but I would throw it out there and see if anyone might know.

I have always understood that he was found in the area where the monument is, on or near the grounds of the Gettysburg Volunteer Fire Department station.
