Hey guys. Here's 10 bullets I'm looking for at the moment. Looking for good dropped examples with nice patinas I will not want to upgrade later on. Not so picky with the rarest ones of course.
1. TT 25 - .44 Nesler
2. TT 66 - '42' Base Whitworth
3. TT 75b - 50 Gallager Spoke base
4. TT 97 - 52 Billinghurst
5. TT 121 - Ringtail sharps with cavity
6. TT 164b - Long Tom Greene
7. TT 179 - Tie Ring enfield
8. TT 191a - 69 Caliber Wide base
9. TT 195a - Extra high base French
10. TT 196 - Lovell Base French
Thanks a lot.

That's quite a list. You should have no problem getting #3 or #4. Item numbers 1, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 are occasionally found but will pricey. #2 ... the one Dean acquired (dug locally here near Gettysburg) was the only one we ever saw. #8 ... this was in Dean's collection also, an odd variation, so cannot guess if there are other specimens available.

Thanks for the reply Jim. I didn't realize the '42' Whitworth was so rare. Do you have anymore info on that bullet? And I've seen a couple of the wide base .69s for sale. So I know they are out there as well. What do you think is the toughest bullet to acquire in the T&T handbook other than the lone Whitworth?
-
I don't think I can pick one specific bullet as the toughest to acquire. Tough to acquire could mean that there are very few available, or to other folks, financial issues impact the acquisition process more than availability. There are some bullets out there that can be had if you have the money...I just don't choose to spend that much for them...I'm an extreme cheapskate not generous and handsome like Mike Ward. I'll list several that you don't run across often.......:

116

136

154b

Stephen, and you didn't even list any of the tough Trans-Mississippi Bullets to acquire.

Michael I'm waiting on you to get tired of your TM collection and sell me the whole thing. With a lengthy layaway plan of course lol. I'm trying to get this TT handbook under control first. Who knew they had one of a kind bullets in there? Thanks Jim and Dean! Lol
-
Oh, my mistake...I didn't include any TM bullets.... I thought you were only interested in bullets that were USED during the Civil War.... ;D ::) ;D
-
Oh those Eastern Theatre collectors and their artifacts ;D

Wait one moment........... Mike hijacked my post above and posted lies about himself. Be warned! Big brother is watching and re-writing! :o

Tell me again about the "Gettysburg of the West."

"The drums of Champion's Hill sounded the doom of Richmond" J.F.C. Fuller
"See what a lot of land these fellows hold, of which Vicksburg is the key. The war can never be brought to a close until that key is in our pocket." Abraham Lincoln
Dave, take your pick

I'll take Vicksburg. Glorieta Pass ( 2400 combatants )being called Gettysburg of the West always cracked me up.

Just wanted to update my list and give it a little bump for the holidays. I acquired TT164b, the long Tom Greene, but I still need the others. I attached a pic of the siblings!! ;)

Stephen, great looking long Tom Greene.

Thanks Michael. Have to say it's your TM collection that inspired my slowly growing one.

LowCountry, long time since I have been on the site. Gotta get back in touch with the bullets and Mighty Mike. Got super busy during last part of career and retirement.

Well, I'll be! Howdy stranger. Are you retired now so no more excuses for not coming out to play at the shows and meet your buddies?
