Description:At first glance, this looks like the typical short pattern CS time fuse adapter for use in spherical shells. However, wthis fuse adapter type is found in elongated shells with the Girardey percussion fuse piece in them. I have one of those listed separately, but it is not from the same shell or even area.

Snother interesting attribute of this type of fuse adapter is the rounded bottom. Near the end of the war, the Confederace was literally cutting corners to save copper.
