Description:This fuse piece went between the Bormann time fuse and the powder cavity. The vast majority of the brass ones are Confederate, and most of the Union ones are iron. This one is for a 1" diameter hole (most common size) and looks to have threads good enough to screw back into a shell if that is how you want to use this. It has some easily removable digger's writing on the bottom which is code for it having been recovered in the Spanish Fort, AL area.
