Description:23" long set of blacksmith tongs. There is an "A" stamp inside a horseshoe mark and also "USA" with other illegible letters/words stamped in the metal near the joint.

Each artillery battery was assigned a "travelling forge" that would've been equipped with tools like this. This is clearly antique and of the kind used by blacksmiths in the old days, but no way of knowing if it was ever part of a military forge.
