Relic shows are cancelling left and right, and one show promoter told me he didn't think there'd be any shows until next year. If that's the case, we'll miss seeing our friends. Who knows, but we're still here operating in this new, online-only world. Getting things to where we can photograph and ship them is a little more challenging than usual, but fortunately some good people keep asking us to buy and sell their accumulations so we're plugging away! Please be patient and stay safe.

We continue to experience intermittent delivery of order emails, so it's wise to email us directly at cwbullet@hotmail.com and carl@sitherwood.com to be sure your order gets through. Thank you for your patience while we try to address this.

Description:Posted to Fort Moultrie on Sullivan's Island, SC to defend Charleston Harbor, Orr'd Rifles earned the unenviable nickname of the "Pound Cake Regiment" in reference to their "light" garrison duty, limited engagements and closeness to home (presumably their families could bring them pound cake or other treats).

Here is an officer on the battlements of Fort Moultrie with cannon and a glimpse of Fort Sumter in the background. He is showing a lady friend the City of Charleston through his spyglass.

These were the early "salad days" for the regiment which would join the Army of Northern Virginia in April 1862 and fight with them for the rest of the war until the surrender at Appomattox.

Signed by Don Troiani and numbered 591 of 950. Framed size is 17" x 21.75"
