Description:This is what Nathan Bedford Forrest carried! A nice, unmarked 1840 Cavalry saber, also known as a "wristbreaker" and if you hold it extended for long in charge position, you will know why.

These high quality, unmarked ones were made in Germany and left unmarked so a US retailer could apply their own marks. Tiffany, Horstmann and Wm Glaze were among the companies on both sides that did this.

The wire wrapping on the grip has broken in a couple places, but it is original and so I have not messed with it. It can be tacked down if desired, but I would leave it alone. Fit in the scabbard is perfect.
