Description:This rusty sword with Bakelite handles came out of Uruguay. It may have been recovered from the wreck of the German Cruiser Graf Spee or associated with sailors from her who disembarked before she was scuttled in shallow water just offshore. That was the story given, but I don't have any further documentation about that and hence the low price. I have not cleaned it up owing to the light rusting from exposure to salt water which to a small degree supports the story.
