Description:This is a really rare item and is not even listed in Jack Ball's heavy artillery book with the Bormann fuse. The one with the water cap is listed as rarity 10. This one clearly took a Bormann based on the fuse hole and the brass under plug. Seen on the left side at about 10 o'clock is the small brass plug used to close off the hole used to fill the shell with incendiary fluid. The contents of this shell half are gone other than some hard material filling the channel from the fill plug to the shell cavity. There is also some concretion lining the shell cavity which may be related to the original contents so I've elected to let the new owner decide if they want to remove it as I am not sure.

The exterior iron is extremely smooth. Whomever did the cutting of the shell did a very nice job. I got both halves of this shell and am keeping the other for my collection.

A super condition half of a very rare shell that doesn't come along very often if ever again.
