Description:Apologies for the near black look in the pictures. It has no applied coloring but just came out in he pictures dark. In reality it is a very nice dark chocolate brown.

This is a typical Virginia Style Read shell. What is not typical is the look. The iron is very solid with only the lightest peppering. The lathe lug spot is very evident showing where it was knocked off when manufactured. The lathe dimple in the bottom is distinct though small compared to most. Bourrelets are distinct and crisp. The person who cleaned it took care to preserve the nice green patina on the sabot. The fuse also has a nice patina but is not original to the shell and easily removes showing very good threads in the fuse hole. It screws in easily and tightly.

Shell is disarmed, cleaned and coated.
