Description:Brooke shell for the rifled 32pdrs in the fortifications of Charleston. This one came from one of a gun emplacement on one of the barrier islands surrounding the city.
The 6.4" Brookes are much less common than the 7" ones. Collectors also like them because they look like the big Brookes but don't weigh nearly as much.
This shell is unfired. The iron is stable and has been in my collection for several years. Prior to that it was in the collection of a Doctor in Charleston so it has been out of the ground for a good, long time with no metal issues.
I can deliver it at Dalton or along the route. A fuse could be screwed in with only a small amount of cleaning of the bushing threads.
