Description:This is a nice shell. It is an 8" water cap cannon ball. While 8" balls are common, 8" balls with a water cap are not common at all. This one is even better in that it has a Confederate unmarked water cap fuse. It is very uncommon to find one of these in a shell.

This shell has excellent iron that only shows enough ground action that you know it was dug. I'll spend a few minutes in the next day or so giving the polyurethane a little TLC and the iron will look even better. The fuse is in good shape though it shows some indents from the ravages of war. But it is still a good example.

Shell is inert, cleaned and coated.
