Description:This is a 30 pounder bolt made for the big 30 pounder Parrott rifle. It seems to me to be much less common than the bottle nose bolt although the Bell heavy artillery book shows the bottle to be slightly less common (rarity 6) compared to this one (rarity 5). This is a very solid example with very good iron. It isn't cleaned but was only washed off and coated. If run through electrolysis it should clean up very well. I'll be glad to do that for the buyer for $15 additional. Even in it's current state you can see the sizing lines on the projectile's side. This example like most is missing the sabot which came off when fired. You can clearly see the notches that held the Type II sabot. A great example that is much cheaper than one with the sabot.
"Projectile" is coated; no need to inert.
