Description:A very nice example of the 6 pounder solid shot that is found at many of the early war sites. The 6-pounder gun was phased out as the war went on for the more effective 12-lber and rifled solid shot. Some of them were rifled to provide more range and accuracy. but early on they were in plentiful use. This shot is in good shop with only a little ground action on the iron. Though not overly distinct, there is a mold seam on it.
It will be going to the Chattanooga Show this weekend (7/24/2020) and likely won't last long there.
Ball is cleaned, coated and solid so no disarming needed.
