Description:12pdr sideloader with the lead sideplug. These were the first kinds of sideloaders used by the Confederate army due to a shortage of lead. The case shot inside this are iron, not lead, and the best way to fill these was from the sideplug, and then with a dowel through the fuse hole to create a powder cavity.
