Description:One of the most interesting projectiles from the Civil War, the Schenkl shell has a different look and was used in all theatres. They are also made for nearly every caliber available. The sabot being paper maché was both safe for the friendly troops and easy on the gun bore.

This example is top notch with super good iron with only enough peppering to know it was dug. The fuse unscrews showing nice threads in the shell. The fuse has a clearer and crisper date than normally seen. The center cap of the fuse unscrews so you can see the slider. Just a real nice example of a desirable shell.

Shell is inert, cleaned and coated.
