Description:This is a really nice Bormann shell in that it has great iron. There is only the slightest peppering of the iron. The Bormann fuse is missing revealing the iron under plug. The shell threads are very much there but incurred some corrosion. The under plug is decent with the center hole and two spanner holes clearly evident. Of interest is that the under plug seems to have been secured with a chisel mark. I cleaned this shell and it is a period effort. Perhaps they were worried about the plug not tightly sealing the chamber and causing premature explosion. Given how evident the mold mark is all the way around this is likely a CS shell. The filling sprue mark is also evident. This shell weights just under 8 pounds indicating it is a common shell (i.e. no case balls).
Shell is inert, recently cleaned and coated.
