Description:This is a very nice example of the US Hotchkiss common shell nose. This is the explosive part of the Hotchkiss shell but is missing the sabot and driving cup. The sabot was a lead band and frequently came off the shell when it had flame grooves. The fuse of this shell is the Hotchkiss time fuse adapter for the paper time fuse. it is in very nice condition with great patina. The shell was flushed out through the fuse so there are no drill holes. Though it looks very good, it would look a good bit nicer with a little TLC.

Shell is inert, cleaned and coated.
