Description:This type didn't make Dickey and George, but an example is shown on the civilwarartillery.com website.

By Vicksburg, the type I Hotchkiss projectiles had been superceded by ones with more effective flame grooves, but the Western theater got a lot of the dregs.

This is in nice, unfired shape. The anvil cap has been unscrewed and misplaced, and a replacement will make this shell just about perfect.
