Description:This is a nice wood fused ball from the North Georgia area of Dalton. The seller couldn't remember the exact location for sure. Iron on this is excellent with a smooth top of the shell and the bottom is nearly smooth other than some porosity in the iron from when it was poured. This is not ground action but very small air bubbles in the iron which you see quite often on CS shells; especially late war. The mold seam is quite visible. Fuse hole is clean. I am pretty sure it is NOT a Mallet polygonal cavity shell as I can feel a portion of the inside wall fairly well with my finger and it feels rounded; not with flats. A real nice shell for your collection if you don't have one.
Shell is disarmed, freshly cleaned and coated.
