Description:Solid shot 6pdr in nice, solid condition. This one has been out of the ground 50+ years. I just got it out of an old time collection. A lot of the old timers coated their cannon balls in "stove black" which gives it a uniform, very thin matte black finish. It is not thick like paint and does not hide repairs so rest assured, this cannon ball is right as rain. I know thisball came out of Virginia, but I do not have a definitive recovery location for it.
