Description:Super rare Schenkl shell with the tapered tail and early unmarked Schenkl percussion fuse with the rounded head flange. Tough shell to get and this one has not been messed with at all, just washed off and inerted.
This came from the outstanding collection of Billy Spedale. Some of his lifelong adventures are covered here in this blog post:

You can still see some lathe marks on the shell. The fuse spun out partway from the spinning of firing and is as found. Everybody likes the distinctive Schenkl shells and this one is a rarity 10 per the 1993 D&G edition.
PS: I have a video of this shell being flushed and it is a hoot with large middle aged white guys running around while the flushing wand sprays like a fire hose out of control. I cannot get photobucket to cooperate to upload the video, but will email it to you if you ask.
