Description:Unfortuntely we don't know exactly where this projectile was found other than from the Mobile Bay, AL area. But we do know that it is very rare (rarity 8 in D&G book but I think even rarer) and in very nice condition. This is a CS polygonal cavity shell. You see these periodically in the 12-lber version. But the 6-lber is far less often encountered and almost all have come from Spanish Fort/Fort Blakeley battles on the east side of Mobile Bay where this one likely came from.

If you collect cannon balls or have an advance shell collection, this is a shell you shouldn't let pass as you'll wait a long time to find one this nice again if you ever do.

Shell is disarmed, cleaned and lightly coated.
