Description:Listed as a rarity 9 shell in the Dickey&George 1993 artillery book, this 3.67-inch caliber shell was designed for the more powerful Parrott rifles with a longer body. The far more frequently seen shorter squatty 3.67-inch shell is for the rifled 6-lber. What makes this one even more uncommon is that it was equipped with the Schenkl Combination fuse which is rarely seen in this caliber. The top of the fuse is broken off but the body can be seen in the fuse hole. It could be removed and replaced with a complete fuse if desired.
The iron on this shell is good with nice crisp ribs showing on the tail.
Shell is inerted, cleaned and coated.
