Description:Everybody loves these rare long bodied, pointy nosed bolts. They are super tough to find (D&G list it as a rarity 9). With the sabot I have only seen a couple ever and this is the only sabotted one I have ever owned. The sabot on this one is complete, but the bottom edge is rolled under some.

It is -9 degrees here and I tried to get a picture of it in natural light but the sun was setting and so it took an orange hue. I am not going back out there to photograph it so these pictures will have to do.

This is the projectile that started it all! I bought a very nice, albeit sabotless, one of these from some guy I had never met years ago. Turned out that guy was Carl Sitherwood and our friendship was off and running and has eventually resulted in us collaborating on this website as well as many relic adventures! As a result I have an emotional attachment to the sabotless one of these in my collection and am selling this one that is more complete with its sabot.

In D&G this is listed as a Burton bolt, but in the years since that book was published most folks have settled on this being a Read bolt. In the book on Burton, "Under Iron Eyelids," is a letter of Burton's to Archer showing the Burton projectile was what we now call the Archer and should probably really be called an Archer Burton projectile.
